IP NAT Outside Command on CISCO Router/Switch


IP NAT Outside


This command is used to set an outside interface for NAT translation.


Router(config-if)#ip nat outside


In this example, we will set R2’s Fa1/0 to be an outside NAT interface.

R2(config)#access-list 10 permit
R2(config)#ip nat pool REACH netmask
R2(config)#ip nat inside source list 10 pool REACH
R2(config)#int fa0/0
R2(config-if)#ip nat inside
R2(config-if)#int fa1/0
R2(config-if)#ip nat outside

R1(config)#do ping

Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to, timeout is 2 seconds:
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 12/39/116 ms

R2(config)#do sh ip nat trans
